"The sort of indie rock that Papercuts slotted neatly into was of a very specific niche, one that had very particular ties to the past. Quever’s songs were layered in reverb that, while not quite approaching the grandiosity of Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound, clearly took notes from the girl groups and early British Invasion bands that looked at Spector’s work for inspiration.
